Saif Sporting Club clinched a 2-1 victory against Brothers Union in the Bangladesh Premier League at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Sunday.

Colombian defender Deiner Cordoba opened the scoring in the 11th minute when he headed the ball home off a Yasin Arafat corner.

Brothers were back in the game in the 27th minute when Saif Sporting’s Riyadul Hasan Rafi scored an own-goal through a head of Brazilian Vieriri Lima.

But Saif Sporting regained the lead thorough a penalty in the 60th minute.

Saif Sporting were awarded a penalty as Denis Bolshakov was fouled in the penalty box and the Russian made no mistake converting the spot kick.

Brothers were unlucky twice as Lima’s free kick and a header struck the post in 68th and 81st minute that forced the Gopibag-based club leave the ground empty-handed.

With the result, Saif Sporting now have nine points from four matches, while Brothers have three points from as many games.
